Cold to severe cold conditions were observed in isolated pockets of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday. Dense fog with visibility below 50 meters was reported in Punjab, while zero visibility affected Amritsar and Pathankot. Visibility was also significantly reduced in parts of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, affecting travel.
Punjab has recorded the lowest temperature, 9°C, while Haryana recorded 12°C.
Kashmir: 'Chillai-Kalan' Continues In The Region
Kashmir is in the grip of its harshest winter phase, ‘Chillai-Kalan,’ which is expected to last until January 30. As temperatures continue to plummet across the Valley, most regions recorded sub-zero minimum temperatures. Pahalgam, known for its freezing winters, recorded the lowest temperature at minus 9°C. Srinagar's temperature dropped significantly from 1°C to a chilling minus 5°C.
Cold Wave Intensifies In Rajasthan
Parts of Rajasthan are also experiencing chilly winter conditions, with Fatehpur in Sikar district recording the lowest temperature in the state at 3°C. Other cities, including Nagaur, Jalorehawkplay, and Churu, saw temperatures dipping below 5°C. The state's weather remains mainly dry, with cold waves expected to persist.
